A Venue with Loads of Character
Located above Fat Tuesdays, this second level space has been completely transformed into a distinctive and beautiful venue with loads of character. Recognizing limited availability in Ottawa of venues available for private events and corporate parties, Velvet Room has stepped in to fill the void. On Friday and Saturday evenings Velvet Room plays host to the highly acclaimed Eddie May Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre series. Post performance, this unique venue opens its doors to the general public as a nightclub that caters to the 25+ crowd.

Sophisticated Atmosphere
Ornate gold guild frames, sparkling crystal chandeliers and plush velvet seating are all part of the décor at this hot spot that opened in 2005. These elegant elements combine with a comfortable infusion of hard wood floors and exposed stone walls to create an atmosphere of sophisticated ease.

Private Events
Offering an alternative to sometimes sterile hotel banquet facilities and overpriced public rooms, Velvet Room offers a beautifully appointed space with capacity for up to 200 guests. Catering for the events is provided by the chef at Fat Tuesdays, a restaurant that specializes in New Orleans Cajun-Creole fare. While the Velvet Room menu offers favourite selections from Fat Tuesdays, Velvet Room offers distinctive menus and will customize according to individual clients’ needs and tastes.
