During the 1980’s, Barrymore’s Ottawa played host to some of the most legendary Canadian and international rock, new wave, soul, punk and heavy metal acts, including Tina Turner, REM, Tragically Hip, and a then up-and-coming U2 in 1981 with a total capacity of 400 people. With the same amount of standing and seating room now, many of the world’s best indie acts frequent Barrymores Club in Ottawa as it hosts concerts on a steady basis throughout the year. Not only is Barrymores Music Hall Ottawa famous for its regular live events, but its weekly club events draw crowds every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The large room is multi-tiered and partitioned into six levels over three floors, with a massive nightclub spirit that comes alive with resident DJs spinning everything from house, dance, and top 40 to hip-hop, rock and hits from the ‘80s and ‘90s. When enjoying a live performance, Barrymore’s Ottawa ON allows for not only great views of the stage from all areas of the venue, but the design of this historic Vaudeville theatre allows of absolutely amazing acoustics that reach all areas of the club.
